Sodium Sulphate Anhydrous: also known as sodium sulphate or sulfate of soda is the inorganic compound with formula Na₂SO₄ as well as several related hydrates. All forms are white solids that are highly soluble in water.

In paper making, sodium sulfate is primarily used in the Kraft process, a method of pulping wood. It acts as a cooking chemical, breaking down lignin and separating cellulose fibers to produce pulp. This process results in high-quality paper with improved strength and durability. 

Sodium sulfate is a common ingredient in powdered laundry detergents, acting as a filler and bulking agent. It helps to reduce the density of the detergent, making it easier to handle and pour, and also aids in water softening, improving the detergent's cleaning performance, especially in hard water.

In textile dyeing, sodium sulfate acts as a leveling agent and electrolyte, crucial for achieving even dye distribution and enhancing colorfastness. It reduces negative charges on fibers, allowing dyes to penetrate more uniformly and bind strongly, resulting in vibrant and durable colors.

In glass making, sodium sulfate (Na2SO4) is primarily used as a fining agent, helping to remove small air bubbles from molten glass. It also acts as a flux, lowering the melting point of the glass mixture and improving its clarity and workability.

Anhydrous sodium sulfate is used in the paper industry, primarily in the Kraft process for pulping wood. It acts as a chemical agent that helps break down wood fibers into pulp, which is then used to make paper products. It also serves as a sizing agent, enhancing the strength and durability of the paper.
